Last Saturday the band and friends got together for a special Quiz night.
We used the event to celebrate Andy Wood after his amazing health journey and to remember a special bandsman in Phil Edworthy who sadly passed away over the Christmas period.
Quiz master Scooby guided us all through the very modern business of a quiz these days and we had a fantastic night. All the proceeds from the evening ( approx £1000 ) with special mention to Sky for their generous assistance will be going to Bowel Cancer UK as a mark of respect to Andy and Phil.
The photo is of Phil’s mother Joan who presented our new bandsman of the year award ( thanks to our sponsor for this trophy ) to none other than Andy Wood at the event.
A very proud moment for us all.
Well done Scooby and band and friends for such a great night.
A really great day in Blackpool yesterday. We were very proud of and pleased with our performance of Seascapes. We were placed 7th on the day, amongst very strong competition. Congratulations to Foden's Band, Leyland band and Pemberton on your placings and qualification to the nationals.
It was a particularly important day for the band after loosing a great pal and second baritone player Phil Edworthy, Strimmer. It is the first time in 28 years Phil hasn’t played at the NW area. We hope he’d be proud of our performance.
We now look forward to some new and exciting projects in 2019!
