It was another great day out for the band at the Spring Brass Festival yesterday. We safely secured our place in the same competition again next year. We’ve had a very busy schedule recently and preparation needed to be short and sharp. Gladly, we gave a very pleasing performance with great band sounds and individual playing, amongst very strong competition. Thanks for all the support and congratulations to all bands who have been promoted in each competition.
We now turn our attention to our rehearsals for Brassed Off at the New Vic Theatre in Stoke, starting in a couple of week’s time. “A’right Jef”
That’s our final rehearsal done before the Spring Brass Festival in Blackpool tomorrow. Good luck to all the bands competing. We’ll be in the second half of the draw in the Senior Cup....see you tomorrow.
After another Brassed Off rehearsal yesterday, this evening we turn our attentions back to our preparation for the Spring Brass Festival next weekend in Blackpool. The band will be performing Symphonic Music in the Senior Cup competition. Three rehearsals to go....
Tonight we had the pleasure of meeting the cast of Brassed Off to rehearse the first few scenes of the production. This is going to be something really special. Get booking your tickets folks! New Vic Theatre
Our MD took part in the first music rehearsal for Brassed Off today at the New Vic Theatre.
Brilliant abilities heard from the brass playing actors, it’s going to be very special.
Thanks to them all for making Jef feel so welcome.
“Brassed off is coming”

The band’s thoughts go out to Colin’s children and our friends at Roberts Bakery Band.
